BERNALILLO COUNTY FIRE RESCUE IS MADE UP OF 13 FIRE DISTRICTS AND STATIONS THROUGHOUT BERNALILLO COUNTY.

Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue was established on September 15, 1958, and has grown from a single station department to a fully paid, 13-district department that staffs five to seven paid personnel per station, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. The stations are covered by personnel trained in both fire and emergency medical service. The shifts consist of 48 hours on and 96 hours off. We are the second largest fire department in the state with over 260 uniformed positions and we continue to grow to meet the needs of our community. These positions rank from Firefighter to Fire Chief.
