THE BERNALILLO COUNTY FIRE CADET ACADEMY IS APPROXIMATELY 28 WEEKS.

During the academy the cadets will be required to work Monday through Thursday and will report to the Training Academy between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Each cadet will participate in arduous physical training, classroom work, hands on skill training, homework, quizzes and tests. All curriculum exceeds the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress’s Fire Fighter I and Fire Fighter II certification requirements.
